Waiting List Positions Currently Available

We have been pleased to be able to offer opportunities for some new clients in the past few months but have now moved back into waiting list mode due to the continued high demand for services. We are currently only able to consider new clients who have some flexibility with days and times they can attend. After 4pm appointments are fully booked. Due to the high amount of circulating COVID we are currently asking that potential new clients are fully vaccinated.

Welcome Jewel Adams
We are excited to be welcoming our new administration team member Jewel to the practice. She has joined us in a full time position after relocating to Geelong. Jewel has settled quickly into the role with a wealth of administration experience behind her.

How To Thrive Documentary Due for Release

It was exciting to attend the advanced screening of the "How To Thrive” documentary at the PwC building at Southbank in Melbourne on the 26th of April.

Chris has been involved in the production of this documentary over the past two years as a clinical psychologist consultant. He also has some cameo appearances in the documentary. The film documents the benefits of offering a comprehensive positive psychology group program to people with significant mental health problems.

US Synchronicity Podcast

Chris was interviewed by Dr Bernie Beitman for episode 248 of his synchronicity podcast, Connecting with Coincidence, also available on YouTube.

The specific topic was “Propinquity: The Surprising Nearness of You”. Propinquity is a form of synchronicity that involves thinking about somebody and then uncannily encountering them soon afterwards. This experience leads to an awareness that we are much more connected with others than we typically assume, and in ways well beyond what we can readily explain in rational terms.

Chris is one of about 16 synchronicity experts internationally to be invited by Dr Beitman to be a “Coincidence Ambassador” and an active member of The Coincidence Project. We will have more information soon about the group’s new website and associated activities designed to promote awareness of how coincidences and synchronicity can impact positively on our lives.

The practice podcast, Psych Spiels and Silver Linings has continued to release weekly episodes.

Our most recent episode Late Midlife and Other Life Crises followed on from the episode previous, The Meaning of a Midlife Crisis. In this two-part series, we discussed what a midlife crisis is, what we can do to ease some of the distress associated with a midlife crisis, as well as what are some of the positives that can come out of experiencing a midlife crisis?

The second to last episode, Beginnings, Middles and Endings – When the Timing is Telling looked
at how we're not just affected by events themselves, but by the timing of them.

In Episode 66, Leveraging our Levels of Energy, we discussed the topic of energy management and how good energy management affects our productivity and well-being.
We talk about how to manage the natural peaks and troughs that come throughout the day and how we can best come up with our own recipe for energy management.
Plus, we look at the daily routines of some famous people, from Mozart to Maya Angelou and more, to see if they can give us some tips for what might work in our own routine.

In mid-April, we released part two of our interview with clinical and forensic psychologist David Cherry in the episode Reducing Our Screen Time. This episode drew upon David's experience in behavioural psychology to discuss how to limit the amount of time we spend on social media and other digital devices.

You can listen to the podcast on your favourite podcast player or at psychspiels.com.au
