How to Thrive: Online Opportunity to View the Documentary

We have been very pleased with the glowing feedback on How to Thrive, the positive psychology documentary that Chris has been involved in, which was released nationally in October. Duy Huynh and Andrew Kelly, the film's director and producer, will be in London later this month to share the film with a wider audience.

The documentary has already had extensive screenings around Australia including a sold-out premiere in Geelong on Tuesday, October 23. If you would like to watch the film, there is a special virtual screening taking place online this Sunday the 13th of November at 7pm AEDT.

The following link has more information on the virtual screening, including how you can access tickets - https://events.humanitix.com/how-to-thrive-virtual-screening-13-november-7pm-aedt

The most recent article was: Vital to Ask For Help

An article about how it can be more difficult to actively seek help when overwhelmed by mental distress than a physical injury, but it can be just as important.

The practice podcast, Psych Spiels and Silver Linings has continued to release weekly episodes.

In our most recent episode, Soaring with Synchronicity - feat. Lisa Buksbaum, we interviewed Lisa Buksbaum, founder of SoaringWords and author of her new book, Soaring Into Strength, about synchronicity, intuition and positive psychology. Lisa has the most wonderful stories, including from challenging situations like grief and illness, along with themes of joy and connection.

The previous two episodes focussed on relationships and looked at some of the principles of marital therapy.

In the first episode, Enriching Our Relationships, we looked at the work of John and Julie Gottman, who are world leaders in relationship therapy. We discussed some of their main ideas and key strategies to foster a happy and healthy relationship.

In the second episode, Relationships: Typical Traps to Avoid, we looked at some of the main traps and negative patterns that we're likely to fall into in a relationship if it isn't going as well, plus how we can avoid them.

You can listen to the podcast on your favourite podcast player or at psychspiels.com.au

If you've enjoyed the podcast, we would really appreciate it if you could rate and review and share the podcast with a friend as this will extend the reach to others who may benefit.

As well as keeping you up to date on all the latest news in the practice we will also be including some resources that you will hopefully find helpful. They include:
  • A helpful article
  • A meaningful quote
  • A good podcast
  • A framework from psychology that you may find useful
